Andrew Rewald is a Melbourne based artist whose practice explores social engagement and the centrality of food and ritual in daily life through diverse media. Andrew has exhibited throughout Australia and internationally. In 2014 he participated in the George Town Festival whilst in Malaysia for an Asialink Residency at Cherry Cake Studios. In 2013, with an Artstart grant from Australia Council for the Arts, Andrew completed a community engagement project in Skagaströnd, Iceland, at Nes Artist Residency. For the Echigo Tsumari Triennial 2012 (Japan), he was artist in residence at Australia House and also participated in the Queenstown Heritage and Arts Festival 2012 (Tasmania). He is currently working on two socially engaged projects, with a 2015 City of Melbourne Art Grant for an upcoming performance at West Space gallery and a 2014 New Work - Early Career grant from Australia Council for the Arts toward an upcoming exhibition at Albury Regional Gallery in 2016.
