Jacqui Shelton is an interdisciplinary artist investigating the utilisation of physical action and artistic labour. Working with ideas of chance and repetition Shelton documents bodily performances to explore adaptation and the limits of situations.
In 2015 Shelton will complete residency programs at NARS, New York, PICA, Perth, and Testing Grounds, Melbourne. Shelton completed Honours in Fine Art at Monash University in 2012 and recently undertook a Masterclass in Sound Art at the Bogong Centre for Sound Culture. In 2014 Shelton had solo exhibitions at Westspace, Bus Projects, Substation Gallery and Dudpsace. Recent group exhibitions include Moving Pictures/Expanding Space, CareOf, Milan, 2014; Melbourne Art Fair, Melbourne Exhibition Building, 2014; Experimental Congress, Gertrude Contemporary, 2013; Leverage (collaboration with Hind Habib), Blindside ARI, 2013; and HATCHED, Perth Institute for Contemporary Art, 2012.
