An informed, research-based practice, Rohan Hutchinson is dedicated to documenting the built landscape. Through large-format photographs Hutchinson questions the transformation of architectural space and our relationship with the environment. He surveys the social and geographical make-up of our surroundings by dissecting layers of economic disparity, cultural affiliations and historical connections.
Hutchinson has completed residencies at Gushul Studio, Blairmore Alberta, Canada, 2014; and the Centre for Art and Architecture Kanazawa, Japan, 2012. He has participated in local and international group shows and held solo exhibitions at the Perth Centre for Photography, Queensland Centre for Photography, Kanazawa Art Port, Colour Factory, Flinders Lane Gallery and Seventh Art Space.
